Essential Safety Tips for Female Home Tutors During Demo Sessions

Tutor women safety is our number one priority at Kumar Home Tutors. We ensure that, in general, each individual in our network-from tutors, students, and parents-is carefully screened. However, safety is in your hands when you step in to conduct tuition. Here are a few tips to keep you safe:
1.Let Someone Know Where You’re Going:
Always inform a family member or a friend where you go. Let them know the name of the student, the contact number, and the address, along with the expected time of return. If possible, bring someone with you on the first day of the trial class.
2. Choose Open Ground for Classes:
If you’re going to a student’s home for a trial session, try to hold the class in an open, visible area. It’s always better when other family members, especially female family members, are around while you’re teaching.
3.Keep Your Phone Charge:
Always ensure you have your phone with you and that it’s charged. Call someone when you arrive at the student’s home and keep them updated with details about when you’ll be back.
4. Don’t Hesitate to Verify the Details:
It’s quite okay to ask for basic information regarding the parents when you are to head over to the student’s home. This is just to ensure that everything checks out.
5. Trust Your Gut:
If something feels off, or if you feel uneasy, trust your instincts. Don’t hesitate to make an excuse and leave immediately; please do tell us so we can take action.
6. Give Contact Info:
Let the parent or student share contact details with family in case you are not reachable or something goes wrong.
7. Inform Your Family:
If you have more than one class in a day, make sure your family knows your schedule. Communicate the times, addresses, and names of your students to keep them informed of wherever you will be.
8. Be Professional:
During class, keep a professional demeanor. Do not engage in personal discussions with students or families.
9. Go Only to the Address Assigned:
Only accept students at addresses given to you by Kumar Home Tutors. If a student’s family asks you to go to a different location, politely refuse their request. If the location feels weird or the address seems suspicious, leave, and afterward tell someone trustworthy about the situation.
10. Set Boundaries and Maintain Them:
Clearly define the boundaries of your interaction with students and their families. Make sure they are aware of your working hours and rules regarding tutoring sessions. Do not hesitate to enforce them.
Your Safety Matters to Us:
At Kumar Home Tutors, we are here to support you. Your safety is in the end, however, in your sense. Please stay aware for your own safety; trust your instinct and remember that we are always here for you.
